HOW TO GET TO PHONGSALY
Phongsaly can be reached by bus from the Northern Bus Terminal in Vientiane Capital. Choose either a direct bus to the province or board any bus heading north to the main towns of Luang Prabang or Oudomxay and extend to Phongsaly. Be aware that transportation schedules and prices are subject to change, so please check departure times and prices at transport station or through a travel agent prior to your trip. You can also enter Phongsaly from Vietnam: the border between Muang Khua and Dien Bien Phu opened to foreigners in 2007.
if you pass this border you should have Lao visa before coming because now you can’t get arrival visa and be started on 1 st January 2020.
Tuk-tuk, motorized tricycles (lot-sam-lo) and “jumbos” (pickup trucks with benches) are available all over town and offer an easy way to get around. You can also rent motorbike for about 150,000 Kip per day.
